FAQs
Planning your wedding is a big deal, and it’s normal to have questions along the way. Here are the answers to the most common ones we hear from couples, parents, and curious planners-in-the-making.
-
Why should we hire a wedding planner?
Planning a wedding involves countless details, from vendor selection to guest logistics. Hiring a planner allows you to enjoy your engagement and wedding day without the stress. With nearly 20 years of experience across catering, venues, and coordination, we make sure everything runs smoothly and reflects your vision. What services do you offer?
We offer four levels of support:
• Virtual Planning — for guidance without full involvement
• Month-Of Coordination — perfect for couples who’ve done the planning and need help executing it
• Partial Planning — for when you’ve started, but want support pulling it all together
• Full-Service Planning — from engagement to the final dance
Each package is customized to meet you where you are in the process. How do we get started?
We’ll start with a complimentary consultation to talk through your priorities and what kind of support makes the most sense. From there, we’ll send over a customized proposal. -
How do you charge for your services?
• Virtual Planning: starts at $1,500
• Month-Of Coordination: starts at $3,500
• Partial Planning: starts at $6,000
• Full-Service Planning: starts at $10,000
All pricing is based on the scope and needs of your event. You’ll receive a detailed proposal after we talk through the details together. How are your fees structured?
We use flat-fee pricing so your budget stays in your control. No commissions, no surprise markups. If there’s a shift in scope or scale, we’ll talk it through clearly and adjust as needed. Will you be present on our wedding day?
Absolutely. I’ll personally be on-site managing the entire day, along with additional team members if needed based on the complexity of your event, no matter what service level you select. -
What’s your planning process like?
We build a personalized planning roadmap just for you. That includes a shared calendar of check-ins, vendor recommendations, and timeline milestones. Everything is structured and clear from day one.Do you help with vendor communication and selection?
Yes. We suggest vendors tailored to your style and budget, manage communication, and help review contracts. We make sure the full vendor team is aligned and informed.Do you work with specific vendors, or can we choose our own?
We have a strong network of trusted pros but are always happy to work with new vendors that fit your vision. We just ask that they’re professional and communicative. Can I see samples of your work before booking?
Of course. We’re proud of our planning tools and past weddings. During your consultation, we’ll walk through sample timelines, documents, and real galleries so you know exactly how we work. -
How many weddings do you take on each season?
We keep our calendar intentionally small. That’s how we stay focused, responsive, and fully present. We also run Curora Studio, where we consult with venues and vendors, so we only take on weddings where we can give our full attention. What types of venues do you specialize in?
We’ve worked in everything from historic estates to sleek city hotels. We’re especially experienced in tented weddings, museum venues, and Hudson Valley properties with logistical challenges like access, terrain, or noise ordinances. What happens if something unexpected comes up on the wedding day?
Unexpected things happen. Weather shifts, a vendor runs late, a microphone cuts out. We stay calm, assess the situation quickly, and make a plan. You’ll always be looped in when needed, but we handle the details so you don’t have to stress. Most of the time, couples and guests don’t even notice anything went wrong, because we’re already one step ahead. -
Do you work well with parents?
Yes. Many of our couples have involved parents or extended families, and we’re comfortable navigating all types of personalities and dynamics. We help set expectations, define roles, and make everyone feel seen.Have you worked with multicultural weddings and blended families?
Absolutely. We work thoughtfully to respect cultural traditions and family structures. From the start, we’ll talk through communication preferences and how to balance everyone’s needs. What’s your communication style?
Clear, kind, and consistent. Whether you prefer voice notes or Google Docs, we’ll keep you in the loop, respond quickly, and never leave you guessing. -
